High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is used to analyze mixtures of materials that can be dissolved in a solvent but are not volatile enough to be analyzed by GC. The components of a sample can be separated, quantitated and isolated for further analyses. The technique is capable of detection limits in the low parts-per-million range.

Detection of sample components is done with a UV/VIS diode array and, when applicable, a fluorescence detector. The fluorescence detector is capable of parts-per-billion detection limits due to extremely low background signals.
